You gotta do something Assassin's Creed related to commerate the release of Assassin's Creed 3. But not doing leaps of faith off tall buildings, I think only professional stunt people and professional assassins are allowed to do that.
And you have yet to suggest we run around screaming "FOR NARNIA!"
We went to Monterey this year and we went to the boardwalk. We were going to take a picture when a middle aged Asian guy was walking by and stopped to pose with us XD. We talked a little bit and he took our picture for us. Most people visiting places like that are fellow tourists and want to have fun as well. Besides, who knows when you might meet up again and they'll remember you from the family photo album haha. And that cat in the corner lol, I want to touch its nose X)
Sounds fun but I got one better. When my mom was little she, her brothers, and my grandparents all went on a cross-country trip. They spent a few days in DC where at the Lincoln Monument several Japanese Turists got her to pose on the steps with the statue behind her. My grandpa said that there were at least twenty people there who couldn't speak English but kept snapping off pics like my mom was a movie star. Ah, moments I wish I could have seen.
It's all for fun. Never meant to hurt anyone. Maybe you should unwind a little, though. Kicking someone in the face probably isn't the best of ideas. I'm sorry you don't like them, but you don't have to read them.
I mean, what you propose doing there is just terrible. People travel half the world, pay lots of money for a trip on the sea to get a good view of (for example) the statue of liberty and want to savour the moment. And then some jackass jumps up to destroy that once in a lifetime chance. I would seriously go over there and punch a tooth out. I am usually a very calm and laid-back person, but this is just terrible. Those people will be left sad, have nothing to bring home with them except for the story of how some idiot ruined a moment they have been looking forward to so much. And many of those "healthy levels of insanity" base on annoying others.
People on vacation are there to have fun. I really hope that they are not so overly involved in themselves to have their moments ruined because someone jumped in a picture. They can retake it right there. Anyway there are always people in the background. Saying that a moment is ruined by a single person in a photograph is just silly. I sincerely doubt that anyone who travels halfway around the world would only take ONE picture. The memories are there forever and if they can't cherish them as they are, maybe they shouldn't have come. And I would very much suggest against punching someone's tooth out. You may be very laid back normally, but you must have a temper with the stance you're taking here.
Anyway, you can find all of these all over the internet. I have made several disclaimers on the subject. I'm not the only one who has put stuff like this up. So if you're here to try to convince me that these are all just terrible and awful and I just ruin everybody's day with them, then you're going to have a tough time.
People need to lighten up. Don't get your panties in a bunch over this.
I know these are not for all audiences, so you honestly should have passed these on by. Why would you read them if they annoyed you so much?
Well, I'm speaking from personal experience here. I've been to NYC once, with my parents. Both my father and I are very keen on photography, and we try to make really GOOD pictures, not just snapshots. Since it cost a lot of money to jsut visit the statue, we actually saw it only once really good - from a cruise, which was also pretty expensive. And we were, literally, able to make no more than 6 shots in total, from different angles, with different persons. We have been very very happy about it, and it just means a lot to us. especially my dad, who works a lot, and photography is his one true hobby. And no, there are no people in the background - which is why such photo are so hard to take, and valuable to the individual.
Let's rephrase it then - there are very few things that make me angry. But when something does, it makes me furious.
Well, no matter whom the quotes belong to - the ideas suck, imho. I'm all for intelligent provocation - but only annoying people and getting on their nerves, on purpose, is just wrong.
Well, I once read more of them - but you are right, I went to the gallery and read them. I didn't have to, so I didn't comment - not my business. But it was on the front page (or pretty far up) and I think the advertised behaviour is wrong. Just as many people would probably oppose a slogan saying "burn a church near you" - you know, stuff I'm okay with (yeah, the example's too radical, but you get my point).
I guess I seem to afford people the common sense to know not to jump in a photograph that is being taken at least somewhat professionally (I don't know how deep you and your father get into it). What I imagine the majority of these little pranksters (which are most likely just a few out of the many who read these) who would actually perform these stunts, is to jump in with a group picture being taken from a camera phone or something. In no way are these meant to be blown out of proportion. Of course I cannot guarantee that all have decency to somewhat behave themselves, which is why I mentioned that these can be found elsewhere and that I'm not promoting stupidity.
I expect most people to understand limitations. I know not all do, but whether I post these or not doesn't really have an effect on those people. If the things seem too far gone, I post warnings in them. But the level of annoyance for the majority of them is SO minimal that I don't feel that's a valid enough argument. Of course, there are those that people can go to extremes with (which I NEVER suggest to anybody), and I can't argue much for those. (Sadly, they do seem to be the more popular ones. :/ I have no control over that.)
I don't feel you can say that these are all just SO annoying that you can't stand any of them. Really? (That's just the kind of vibe I'm getting from you, here.) Is asking for crayons and a kid's placemat at a restaurant really going to bother you? What about somebody else wearing a cape in public? Talking to people through a sock puppet? Mainly these are just outlets for people who feel overly oppressed by the world around them--smothered in conformity. It's for people (who are usually the quiet ones in the back of the classroom dreaming of being somewhere far off) who maybe feel they can't express themselves. I understand your concern and I can totally agree for a LOT of these. In my own opinion I don't care for the ones that are overly reliant on the reactions of other people. But I post them because people like them. These really are supposed to be more for the laugh of reading them rather than doing them.
And sorry about the front page. I wish they didn't get up there. The first time it happened was kinda cool, but after a few times, it actually made me sad that these things can get there. There are SO many works on here that deserve the attention so much more. I do try to promote others on here as well. I do journal features and I try my best to get people to read some literature on here (which I believe is severely underrated on dA). Sorry for the long comment, by the way. :/
I have so many wacky things that I could use for this. Hm, Sombrero, Cat-in-the-hat Hat, Mickey Mouse's Wizard hat (complete with Mickey Mouse ears), Raccoon hat, Cat hat (with accompanying Cat gloves), Top hat, Fancy gangster hat, Fisherman's hat, Black emo wig, that guy from Bleach's hat, a Jester's cape, Chocobo Doll, a Black cat doll, a couple pikachu dolls, a Shinx doll, Demyx Doll, Neo-Shadow-from-kingdom-hearts Hat, Little Wizard statue, Jester's Mask, and a Black Cat hoody that comes with a tail
Lol we visited a monument nearby last year and my cousin would veer off in the middle of conversations just to do this Well until he walked in front of some random family and they started screaming at us in some random launguage I didn't understand. We had to hightail it outa there!
