I saw a guy do this once. He then proceeded to connect the mice to DIFFERENT towers. The keyboards as well.

MY brother had gotten to the lab early once and were VERY bored. This was the result. NOBODY in the class knew what was wrong! Not even the teacher! It was freaking HILARIOUS!!!!

The "tower" is the component of the computer (desktop computer) that houses all the actual computer hardware. It stands separately from the monitor and is what you normally would plug everything into.
