my uncle does this because he has brain damage. we've learned to give him a "dummy" remote so he won't find the real one.

My dad keeps doing this! Well because he always changes the channel when there are the commercials and there are usually commercials about 5 minutes before the end. But he always changes back too late and the show is over...

My mom does the same thing!! She changes the channel for commercials and then forgets about the end of the movie! Or if she doesn't change the channel, she mutes the tv for the commercials, so we miss the dramatic monologue of the movie!!

If you're feeling particularly evil and have a DVR, casually pause the show every now and then, so that when you switch channels, they can't just go back to see the finale.
